Laser Engraving

           Prodigy Engineering offers specialized Laser Engraving services to fellow manufacturers in the professional audio industry as well as to individuals that require professional laser markings on their custom front panels. We understand that it is difficult to justify the high tooling costs and high quantity minimums of traditional vendors that cater to architectural/automotive/consumer electronics industries. Additionally, they do not understand the level of specific detail and accuracy that is required in the kind of work that we produce. What is good enough for a hand-rail or car bumper does not even come close to the level of quality that our industry expects.

           There are many advantages to laser engraving over traditional engraving. While traditional engraving requires cutting into and removing a portion of the material; thus changing the strength and integrity of the part, CO2 laser marking is a process that does not involve physical contact with the material being engraved.

           Laser marking is the process of using a high intensity beam of light to create a thermally bonded, high resolution permanent mark. The quality and precision of text and graphic marking cannot be matched by currently more conventional methods of legending like epoxy screening (silk screening). The resultant laser mark is more permanent than the aforementioned dye-based solution which is essentially cured dye residing on the surface of the material that can easily be scratched off. Every Prodigy Engineering aluminum anodized panel is marked with exactly the same laser process that is used for clients' materials.
